Young Leaders Institute (YLI)
We believe in the power of young people to shape the future and are committed to providing a unified and resourceful network for their growth.
Our goals are to:
- Connect: Foster a strong network where youth councils can collaborate, share best practices, and learn from each other's experiences through information sharing and networking opportunities. We regularly share information with our network members through our social media channels and quarterly newsletter. Submit your youth volunteer, internship and other opportunities to reach a larger audience.
- Engage: Facilitate access to volunteer and internship opportunities that allow young leaders to contribute to their communities and develop practical skills. If you are seeking youth voice for a council, committee or board, contact us to help facilitate outreach.
- Empower: Offer free, high-quality leadership training and educational workshops addressing topics crucial for youth development and leadership for youth council members, advisors, and mentors. Training sessions can be offered for 30 minutes to an hour.
YLI aims to amplify the positive impact of young people in Fairfax County and equip them with the skills and connections to thrive, while providing youth insight and voice to Fairfax County.
FREE TRAINING AVAILABLE FOR ALL YOUTH COUNCILS AND COMMITTEES!
YLI is open to Youth Councils, Committees and Groups that serve Fairfax County. There is no cost for training and educational classes up to 1 hour. Contact Susan Sims, Director of Leadership Programs at susan@leadershipfairfax.org for more information or discuss opportunities.
