Gayle T. Bailey
LFI '98
Gayle Bailey is the Principal Broker of The Bailey Team. He has more than 42 years experience in commercial and residential real estate. He entered the real estate business in 1970 after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in chemistry and biology, and attending graduate school at the University of Kentucky in biochemistry. Over the next seven years, Gayle's success took him to number one agent in Kentucky for 1977. During that time, he joined the faculty of the National Association of Realtors® teaching and developing course work for the organized real estate industry nationwide. In 1981, he developed his own real estate company, The Home Store, selling it in 1983 and relocating to Mandeville, Louisiana, where Gayle assumed a principal position in several real estate development limited partnerships. Success came quickly and lasted until the late 1980’s when petroleum based-economies like Louisiana crashed. In July 1988, he moved to Northern Virginia literally without knowing one person. His first year in Northern Virginia he sold almost $10 million in real estate. In April 2004, he formed The Bailey Team Real Estate as an independent brokerage. He has achieved in multiple geographic markets every title, award, designation, and accolade the real estate business can provide. He is a charter member of the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), a Graduate of the REALTORS Institute (GRI), and holds the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designations. He has also written books on buying and selling real estate, and been featured in Realtor® Magazine. In 2011 he received the Torchbearer Award as theh outstanding member of the year from Leasership Fairfax, Inc., upon whose board he has served.
