Paul Patton (LFI '12) VP at CACI was recently inducted into PITT’s Varsity Letter Club’s, “Awardees of Distinction”, which is PiTT’s name for the Athletes Hall of Fame. “Being recognized by my school in this manner was a blessing and was one of the most humbling and memorable experiences in my life. As a Steeler Fan, to have my picture on the scoreboard at Heinz Field was over the top.”2011
Jessica Tadlock Beasly (ELI '11) reports that Aaron Michael Beasley was born Tuesday, November 8 at 7:56am. He weighed 7lbs 12oz and is 20in long. Mom and baby are healthy and are in love with are newest addition to the family
Mark (LFI ’02) and Susan Pleskow (LFI ’11) are excited to share that their daughter Rose will be among the 7,500 athletes taking part in the competition at the 2011 Special Olympics World Games open in Athens, Greece. Rose earned the trip by medaling in the 3,000- and 1,500-meter runs in state competition last spring. (7/11)
Deborah Mullen (LFI ’11) President of Captus Communications,is proud to announce the launch of a comprehensive recruitment campaign for Chesterfield County, VA Fire and EMS. The campaign was developed by Captus to increase public awareness about volunteer opportunities and the benefits of volunteering to the individual and the community. Campaign components included market research, branding, creative concept development using QR codes, mobile Web pages, exhibits, print and promotional materials, graphic design and copy writing. Deborah is also proud to announce the launch of a new Web site for Captus Communications -- www.captuscomm.com. (11/11)

Ed Prugh (LFI ’10) was recently chosen to be a key speaker and panelist at the Washington Journalism and Media Conference hosted by George Mason University. This is the third consecutive year Ed has been chosen to present and lead public relations and communications discussions with many other award-winning journalists from organizations such as the Washington Post, CNN, NBC News, Politico and the New York Times. Karen Horowitz (LFI '10) was featured in the Sun Gazette accepting the Nonprofit of the Year Award on behalf of Northern Virginia Family Service. This award is presented by the ViennaTysons Regional Chamber of Commerce at their annual Service Awards Dinner. Congrats to Karen and the whole NVFS team! (9/11)

Nicolas Le Coq (ELI '08) was recently promoted to partner at Ernst and Young overseeing French Business Network for the East-Central sub-area of the United States. Nicolas is a member of the Board of Directors of the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Washington, D.C. (11/11)

Kim Shanahan (LFI ’07), Northern Virginia Managing Director and Senior Client Partner at Korn Ferry has been named one of Washingtonian magazine’s 100 Tech Titans 2011. Kim was recognized as one of the most influential technology leaders in the region based on her proven track record and extensive recruiting experience in the technology sector.The award selection process placed Ms. Shanahan among a long list of “Tech Titans” who are also entrepreneurs, government officials, community and industry leader. Chris Poleto (LFI '07) recently took over the leadership role as General Manager at Lord & Taylor, Fair Oaks Mall. where he will be focused on improving the merchandise assortment and community outreach, He invites everyone to stop by to say 'Hello' when you're in the area. Lisa Martin (LFI ’99) CEO of Leap Frog Solutions announced it has won an International Davey Award from the acclaimed International Academy of the Visual Arts. The award was given for Leap Frog's design of a brochure that the Fairfax County (Va.) Office of Emergency Management is using to inform citizens how they can prepare to recover from a disaster. C. Michael Ferraro (LFI ' 98) of TRAINING SOLUTIONS, INC was elected as the new Chair Elect of the Reston Chamber of Commerce on July 26, 2011 at the Chamber's annual meeting.
